SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS/SERVICES
As SMG continues to expand, new and exciting programs and services become realities such as:
PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICE
SMG was proud to announce in September of 2004, the opening of the SMG Public
Relations Office. The purpose of this office is to promote the concept of
student exchange throughout the United States to the benefit of all SMG regions
and areas. This office also searches for leadership people throughout the exchange
industry to assist all SMG regions. The Public Relations Office also houses the
outreach system of identifying host families and local representatives throughout
the United States. This office works directly with each SMG region to ensure
that all regions receive the assistance they need to be successful. This office also
provides training and guidance for any representative in any SMG region.
SMG CANADA
SMG offers public and private school programs in the various provinces of Canada.
SMG Canada is also now able to offer French speaking schools and a Junior AYP
Program for younger students. Short-term stays are also now available throughout Canada.
PRE-AYP ENGLISH CAMP PROGRAM
The goals of this program are to learn English better and adjust to American life
before attending the AYP Program. SMG provides six locations from which the
student can choose. The program includes daily ESL lessons and homestays of three
to six weeks.
STUDENT TOURS IN THE US
Student Tours offer the opportunity for high school students to travel in the USA
and to see many exciting places across the country. The students can choose the
destination they would like to visit during school breaks. The tours are operated in Hawaii,
Washington DC, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The tours are created to offer
students a wide range of cultural experiences and the opportunity to meet new friends
from across the globe.
OUTBOUND PROGRAM
SMG's Outbound Program is designed to provide American students with an intensive,
cultural and academic experience in a foreign family and cultural environment abroad.
We can also arrange any program individually, whether it is long-term, short-term or
in a grou setting. All of these programs are with homestays and all students are always
supervised by a local representative.
SHORT-TERM PROGRAM
Individual homestay and one-to-one teacher programs operate throughout the
year. These programs are designed for students who have a real desire to improve
their English proficiency, especially their conversational skills, through the daily
interaction with an American family. Students can select any area in the United States.
INTERNATIONAL FOREIGN FAMILY PROGRAM (IFF)
This program takes place in the Eastern part of Oregon. Students live in an IFF home
which is operated just like a typical American home with loving host families.
Each family has between 6-14 exchange students living with them in a dorm-like
setting. This program is for sport oriented, enthusiastic, nature-loving, active and
out-going students. Each school has a variety of activities from sports to camping,
skiing, hiking and many more diverse opportunities.
