HAVE YOU WORKED AS A VOLUNTEER in STUDENT EXCHANGE?
NOW: Volunteer or Paid Volunteer, It is your decision.
We would like to talk to you about the OPPORTUNITIES at Student Exchange Alliance member programs. There is no obligation and we have a terrific story to tell on this NEW industry opportunity for volunteers in exchange.
VOLUNTEER REPRESENTATIVE
What Makes a Volunteer? The service a volunteer does on behalf of a STUDENT EXCHANGE program is silently donating their stipend that most receive to support a national office, regional operating center or lavish National Offices that are most times high paid and over staffed. The important work on behalf of student exchange is performed in the local areas of the country, all across the nation.
Many Volunteer based older programs have operated as a volunteer based operation. It had been a wonderful old time way to spread the good of exchange. In the 1980’s, at the time of exchange program explosion, a new way of exchange came into student exchange. A stipend payment for performing required activities in support of student exchange. Today, more students are supported by the stipend payment method of exchange.
This is the normal volunteer representative of yesteryear. TODAY you have options!
PAID VOLUNTEER REPRESENTATIVE
The stipend for services normally provided by the representative would go to the representatives’ favorite school club, school booster club, community activity, community club, church or any local community organization of their choice. This can be a PAID VOLUNTEER REPRESENTATIVES personal COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT. Now isn’t that being a TRUE Volunteer Representative; you can really contribute back to your local community for all you do, NOT to support a Regional Centers etc.

Volunteer programs use your efforts for the interest of the program, what assistance is given to our local clubs, organizations, non-profit groups does your program contribute too? Do they make local donation like we would on our PAID VOLUNTEER REPRESENTATIVE program? Of course, your community is where you live and work, not where a Regional Center is located. Just think of all the good you can do for your school and your community. That’s true Community Service!
Paid Volunteer Representative is also where the representative is given the stipend for services performed, to either reimburse themselves for services performed and/or to assist those students under their care needing direct assistance while on the exchange experience.
Now you can select the way you would like to be treated, join our exchange family.
These are NEW ideas in exchange and are an example of the SEA industry leading programming.

IMPORTANT: The most critical step is the matching of the host family and the foreign exchange student, interest and life style.
Therefore, SEA asks each interested family to complete a preliminary host family application, under
NO COMMITMENT, in order for the Representative to proceed with a group of students for a perspective host family to review
based on your family’s interests and lifestyle.
In this process, with the guidance of your experienced Local Representative, you will select your new son/daughter. Only then does the placement process begin.
