All regular Acedemic Year exchange programs, including public and private high

school for anywhere from 5 months to 12 months make up the majority of the work
in which SMG specializes. The key components of this category are cultural and
educational in terms of how to best describe these programs. SMG and its local
representatives work with local schools and host families in order to ensure a quality
experience for each of its high school participants.
HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM (J-1 VISA PROGRAM)
The SMG Academic Year Programs (AYP10) and Semester Programs (AYP5) are designed to
provide students with an intensive American cultural and academic experience in a family
environment. We place AYP students with volunteer families in all areas of the United
States. The United States offers a great deal of diversity therefore providing the
students with multicultural experiences.
J-1 PRIVATE HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM (J-1 VISA PROGRAM)
Some of the finest high schools and educational institutions are working with SMG
on this program. This program is designed for students who wish to go to a smaller
private school with a lower tuition rate. These schools are unable to issue an I-20, so
a J-1 visa is applicable. Tuition at these small private schools, mainly Christian and
Catholic, range in price from $2000 to $6000.
